The RIGID-FLEX circuit is a hybrid product that combines 2 types of technologies:  rigid circuits and Flex circuits.

The manufacturing process requires good experience on som key steps:
. The milling process
. The electrical test
. The pressing of the layers

Few manufacturers of printed circuits to master this technology. However, it has many advantages in terms of size and reliability. It is used in many fields of applications such as medical, aeronautics, automotive.

No via in flexible zone.
Design the via with "teardrops".
Prefer rounded corners with large radius on the flexible part.
No change in width or direction of the tracks in the folding area.
Tracks perpendicular to the rigid flex connection area.
